After graduating from law school in 2018, Ethen went to work for his father’s $100MM P.I. firm in Pennsylvania.
He was assigned to work on a few cases as junior counsel while working on their case management and intake problem.
And what he discovered there SHOCKED him.
Leads that called in with a potential case were only getting 1-2 follow-up phone calls or emails (at best).
When he looked at the matters and client files in their CRM, he saw missing records requests, missing deck pages, semi-drafted discoveries, and more.
The reason for this?
Paralegals and case managers were on the phones handling intake calls due to receptionist spillover.
They were just too busy.
Receptionists were letting over 30%-40% of their 1,500/month phone calls go to voicemail (imagine how many leads they were missing…).
In fact, the attorneys themselves were forced to handle consult calls on the weekends and nights!
This added another 10-15 hours to their already crammed schedules.
It was just too much. The office morale was high stress and overworked, leading to tense moods and frayed nerves.
